Week 6: ECO Explorers

It's Week 6 and this week is all about the enviorment! As always we're so thrilled that you will be joining us for Camp Global. Our weekly newsletter will be sent to you every week of camp to keep you apprised of the upcoming events and reminders for the next week.


Friendly Reminders:


  • It's, the last week of summer school. If your camper is attending MCPS Summer School, please check with a site director to ensure your child is on the roster.

  • Beall families Camp Global pick-up and drop will take place at Beall's playground entrance.

  • Gibbs families, Camp Global's entrance will continue to take place at the side entrance of the school adjacent to the soccer field. In efforts to not block building service please do not park in front of the chained-off area in the parking lot. You may park in available parking spaces in the parking lot, on the side street, and the playground parking lot across the street.

Tuesday July 26 - Pool Trip

  • Arrive at 9:30 am to make it in time for the bus

  • Please send children in their bathing suits.

  • Bring a bag labeled with a labeled towel

  • Labeled bag lunch, snack(s), and a labeled bottle of water.

  • A change of clothes

  • Please remember to apply sunscreen on your child before camp and leave a labeled bottle for us to reapply later in the day.


Thursday: July 28th -Calvert Cliffs

  • Arrive at 8:30 am to make it in time for the bus

  • Be sure your camper comes in their camper shirt and swimming gear

  • Labeled bag lunch, snack(s), and a labeled bottle of water.

  • Comfortable walking shoes, this trip includes a mini hike for all campers

  • Please remember to apply sunscreen on your child before camp and leave a labeled bottle for us to reapply later in the day.


*If you miss the bus you will need to bring your child to the location and notify the Director as well.



Fun Friday: Show and Tell

In honor of shark tooth hunting and seashell finding, Camp Global encourages every camper to show off their favorite acquired specimen to their peers! Bring along your favorite piece and be prepared to explain why it’s your favorite in a traditional show and tell!

Lunch Reminders:

  • Please pack a lunch that does not need to be refrigerated or heated.

  • Global is “peanut-free” and we strive to be a completely “nut-free zone.”

  • Be sure to send your camper with a labeled water bottle for the day.

  • Global will provide AM & PM snacks, you may pack your camper additional snacks if needed.

This summer we are collecting the following materials for some super fun crafts and science projects:



  • Water/ soda bottles (all sizes)

  • Toilet/ paper towel rolls

  • Egg cartons

  • Newspapers/ magazines

Tuition:


Tuition for Camp Global is $355 per week which is to be paid in full by the Thursday prior to the start of every week of Camp Global. For example, the first tuition payment must be made on June 16th, the Thursday prior to the first day of camp, June 21st. This process is to be repeated until the end of Camp Global’s Summer session.
