What Are Vouchers?

Vouchers are scholarships given by the State or County to help families with childcare costs. The scholarship/voucher is a signed agreement between the State, Global Children’s Center, and the parent/guardian. In order to be eligible for assistance, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be Maryland residents working, in an approved training program, or attending school.

  • Both parents in a household must meet eligibility criteria if they reside together.

  • Applicants must fall within Child Care Scholarship Income Guidelines/ Working Parents Assistance Income Guidelines and receive other government assistance such as TCA or SSI.

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency for children applying for the scholarship is required (parents do not need to be citizens or legal residents).

  • Documentation for all household members' identities must be provided.

  • You will need to provide proof of work/employment, income, identity, and address.

Please Note: Immigration status is not a requirement for parents or children to participate in the WPA program. However for the CCS program, the child must have proof of US citizenship or legal residency to qualify.

Child Care Scholarship

The Maryland Child Care Scholarship (CCS) program helps eligible families pay for child care while they work, attend school, or meet other qualifying requirements. Global Children’s Center accepts CCS scholarships for eligible families.

Working Parents Assistance

Montgomery County’s Working Parents Assistance (WPA) program provides financial assistance to eligible working families to help cover the cost of child care. Eligibility and assistance amounts are based on program requirements and household circumstances.

MCCYN / Child Care Aware

The Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) program helps eligible military and Department of Defense families access affordable child care in their community. Assistance is administered through Child Care Aware of America and is based on eligibility and program guidelines.
